InsideCrowd is no longer running

Dear fellow Insiders,

After three years of trying, Luc and I reluctantly had to admit to ourselves that we couldn’t make InsideCrowd work. InsideCrowd was born of a vision that if we could create a simple way for friends and neighbors to share advice, we could create a really fantastic resource. Instead of spending hours Googling or taking a chance on an unknown vendor, you’d simply ask people you trust.

Unfortunately, the magic wasn’t there. All the great social web sites succeed by unlocking some vast potential that is hidden in the market. We thought we had discovered such an opportunity, but it never worked out. While people liked InsideCrowd, they didn’t LOVE it. And, more importantly, they didn’t invite their friends. With friends as the key part of our adoption model and our entire friend-based personal network, the site just couldn’t succeed.

We’ve really enjoyed building this company, seeing the hints of its potential, and watching as the community used the service.

But it’s time to move on. Thanks to everyone for participating – it’s been fun.

Best,

Ross & Luc

PS Does anyone know a good service I can use to find answers to my everyday life questions? Wait… never mind.  ;)
